Client Agreement & Liability

Ruff Roll Academy is committed to a safe, ethical, and positive environment for every dog.
Our training methods are science-based, humane, and force-free — but dog ownership carries inherent risk (bites or injury).

Clients agree to:

Provide accurate information about health, bite history, and behavior.
Update us if new risks arise.
Take full responsibility for their dog’s actions.

By engaging our services, you indemnify and hold harmless Ruff Roll Academy from any claims, injuries, or damages caused by your dog.

Recommendations for third-party products/services are not guarantees.

By checking “I have read and agree to the terms,” you confirm full acceptance of this policy.

1. Payments

All payments must be completed before appointments are scheduled.

2. Cancellations

Within 48 hours: non-refundable.
If we must cancel, we’ll give 24 hours’ notice and offer reschedule or full refund.

3. Health & Vaccination Policy

Sick or recovering dogs may not attend.
Disclose if your dog is intact or in heat (attendance may be adjusted).
Proof of current vaccinations required before participation:
- Rabies
- Bordetella
- DHPP
- Giardia
- Canine Influenza

4. Ban on Aversive Equipment

We strictly prohibit aversive tools. Use of such equipment terminates training with a 30% refund of the remaining balance.

Acceptable Equipment:
Body harness | Solid leash | Flat buckle collar | Head collar | Muzzle

5. Force-Free Reinforcement Policy

All training uses positive reinforcement only — food, play, praise.
No physical, psychological, or verbal punishment.

6. Trainer’s Safety Pledge

We follow strict safety protocols to minimize risk of bites or injury.

7. Client Safety Responsibilities (Aggression & Fear Cases)

Guardians must:

Follow all safety/training guidelines.
Implement recommended management protocols.

Failure to do so releases Ruff Roll Academy from liability for damages or injuries.

8. Muzzle Training Requirement

Dogs with a bite history must complete muzzle-acclimation training for everyone’s safety.

9. Board-and-Train Safety (Aggressive Dogs)

Aggressive dogs are housed separately at all times.
During caretaker absences (never exceeding 3 hours), all safety precautions stay in place.

10. Reinforcement Requirement

Bring high-value rewards (food, toys, or resources) to every session.

11. Messaging Policy

Available Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–6 PM for text/email feedback.
Limit: 2 emails per day.
Calls/texts reserved for scheduled appointments.

12. No-Guarantee Policy

Training success depends on practice outside of sessions.
We provide the plan, feedback, and support; consistent execution is the client’s responsibility.
Open communication helps us make adjustments for best results.

13. Child Policy

Under 16 must be supervised by another adult.
Only one calm child may attend sessions.
Under 14 not permitted in group classes.

14. No Refund Policy

All paid training, daycare, and boarding programs are non-refundable.

15. Care Weight-Limit Policy

Daycare, boarding, and day-school services are limited to dogs under 90 lbs for comfort and safety.

16. Regular Gift Card Policy

Gift cards reward commitment and progress.

Not Valid For:

Peace At Home or Aggression Track tuition
Deposits or past purchases

17. New Client Promotional Certificate Gift Cards – Important Terms

New clients only. One per household. Non-transferable.
$300 credit toward first 6- or 8-week program.
Not valid for add-ons, merchandise, or past purchases.
Must be introduced via 3-way text by an active client.
Booking deadline: on/before the expiration date shown (6-client capacity limit).
Not redeemable for cash or credit back on unused value.
Lost/stolen certificates will not be replaced.
Not combinable with other discounts (Acuity allows one code per booking).
If rescheduled, promo remains valid for one reschedule within 14 days of the original appointment.
Void where prohibited. Ruff Roll Academy may decline/redact for suspected fraud or misuse.

Expiration:

Promotional certificate expires 11:59 PM (local time) on the date printed.

Legal Note (California):
Promotional or loyalty certificates issued for free may carry an expiration if clearly printed on the front (≥10-pt font).
Label these as “Promotional Certificates,” not paid “Gift Cards.”

18. Media Release and Testimonial Consent (California)

This policy applies to our in-person 6–8-week dog-training programs in the San Gabriel Valley.
You may receive full services even if you decline media participation. There are no penalties for opting out.

Your Choices (select all that apply)

I consent to photo capture during sessions for promotional use.
I consent to video capture during sessions for promotional use.
I consent to audio recording during sessions for promotional use. I understand that California requires consent from all parties for audio recording and I am giving that consent.
I consent to use of my written testimonial(s).
I do not consent to any recording of me; you may still film my dog only (no identifying information of me).

Privacy / Anonymity Options

We will always honor the most privacy-protective combination you select.

Do not display my last name (use first name/initials only).
Do not display my city/neighborhood; list “San Gabriel Valley” only.
Keep my face out of frame or blur my face in media.
Alter or omit my voice in media.
Do not show my home exterior, license plates, children, or other identifying features.

Scope of Permission

If you opt in above, you grant Ruff Roll Academy a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the selected media in any format for advertising, marketing, and education.
You affirm that the media may depict your name, voice, photograph, or likeness, which requires written consent under California law.
We may edit for clarity or length without changing your meaning.
Testimonials reflect individual experiences and must be truthful and substantiated per FTC Guides.
We do not guarantee specific results.

Revocation and Deletion (CCPA/CPRA-Aligned)

You may revoke consent or request deletion of your raw, unpublished media at any time by emailing san@ruffrollacademy.net.

We will confirm receipt within 10 business days.
We will complete requests within 45 days (extendable to 90 days with notice).
We will stop new use upon revocation and delete raw files we control.
Already-published materials will remain unless required by law to remove them.
Backups and archives are deleted in the ordinary course of business.

Minors

We do not film minors without a parent or legal guardian’s signature.
If consent is not signed, minors will be excluded from the frame.

No Compensation; No Obligation

You receive no payment for granting permission.
Your services are not conditioned on consenting to media, and declining will not affect service quality.

Release

To the extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Ruff Roll Academy from any claims arising out of authorized uses under this Release, except those caused by our willful misconduct.
Nothing herein waives any non-waivable rights.
